Stump grinding is the last stage of tree removal. Once the tree has been felled, what will remain can often be an unsightly stump.
There can be some issues leaving the stump; there are all manner of root fungi which can take hold as well as suckering where new shoots start to grow from the stump if it has not been correctly killed off.
Stump grinding can be done effectively at any time of the year; it will require the use of specialist equipment and trained professional operating them.

Stump Grinding
Stump grinding involves removing the upper section of the root ball; it is taken sufficiently below ground level so the lawn can be laid. Stump grinding does produce wood shavings, but this is entirely biodegradable and will break down.
The most effective equipment to use is a stump grinder, which is a grinder with a series of tungsten teeth. Lowered into position on to the top of the stump and pressure is applied until the stump is gone. Generally, with stumps, you can get to a depth of around 18 inches; if you need us to go deeper, we have specialist equipment to get this job done to your satisfaction.
Most people want a stump to be removed; purely for aesthetic reasons and to have an even lawn. However, there are other common reasons for wanting a stump to be ground down or removed altogether.
For example:
A new building or construction
A new fence or wall.
